Escape the noise and create

Commercial Recording Studio, Events, Venue, Weddings, Corporate Event

TUCKED JUST A FEW MINUTES OUTSIDE OF "THE ROW", CASTLE RECORDING STUDIOs OFFERS ARTISTS THE PERFECT ATMOSPHERE AND WORLD CLASS STUDIO EXPERIENCE TO ESCAPE THE NOISE OF DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE AND FOCUS ON CREATING.

The Nuyens family, a European bluegrass group, acquired The Castle in 1979 in order to establish a new frontier for its future.

The Castle was built from 1929 to 1932, purportedly under the auspices of the notorious gangster, Al Capone, and by Chicago bookie/gambler Ed Welch. It was used as a "half-way" point for the travels between Chicago and Florida or New Orleans, and was operated as a clandestine gambling casino in the 30's. As proof, local yard spinners used to point to the gambling symbols which are embedded in the front rock walkway as a reminder of its prohibited activities. Part of the lore is that there was a mushroom cellar designed to hide "guests." The mysterious Welch returned to Chicago after the local police busted the gambling operation. Then came the restaurant incarnation during the 40's where Bob Hope, Spencer Tracy and other actors were regular visitors during the filming of a movie in the area.

Immediately after the final immigration papers and green cards were approved, Jozef Nuyens founded Castle Recording Studios in 1982. The Castle became one of the best known commercial recording facilities in the world. Over the last 35 years, nearly 500 gold and platinum artists from all over the world and across all music genres have recorded their ground breaking albums at the facility.

The Castle now serves as a world class facility for artists to come out, enjoy the escape from Nashville, and work on their next project. The Castle houses two studios, a full kitchen, and a staff ready to make this the best recording experience an artist can find.
